I have had good service each time I have been. Their French today is oddly good and their pick and pair menus is a good value.
Our waitress was friendly. We didn't wait long for our order. She checked on us frequently. The food was very good. Friendly and quiet atmosphere. I will definitely return. I would recommend this place.
Nothing says home for me more than eating at a Village Inn. We recently moved away from our Village Inn and it's surprising how much we miss it. There is just something so comforting about being served good food buy trained and helpful staff in a cozy environment. The menu is large so even the most picky eaters can find something to their taste. No matter what you eat a slice of pie is always a great way to end or start a meal. There are plenty of types to choose from and they're all delicious. If you are a coffee drinker, like myself, a full pot sitting at your table is always a great feature. Every time we're back in range of a Village Inn we make it a top priority to eat there. It never disappoints.
We were out of towners and randomly chose the village inn for the large sign visible from the freeway. We were seated and ordered quickly but it seemed a long time for preparation. Soon, our server came by and apologized that she had forgotten to enter our order. She assured us it was first in the queue. We were tired from traveling, so didn't mind to relax. When we were served, the food was good and our server said dinner was on the house! As a 35 year veteran of the restaurant industry, I applauded, though felt it quite unnecessary, their gesture! And as it was a Wednesday, we were treated to a piece of pie! Thanks! Next time I'm in Council Bluffs, I know where to eat!
Deb is an awesome server & worked hard to take care of the 3 yr old & the 85 yr old ... Both who had special requests.
